European Caritas organisations send more than one million euros to PeruCaritas organisations across Europe continue to mobilise resources to help and support Caritas Peru's work in the ground. In addition to the initial donation of 583,000 euros from Europan Caritas, Caritas France (Secours Catholique), Caritas Netherlands (CORDAID) and Caritas England & Wales (CAFOD) have recently announced the allocation of 100,000; 250,000; and 74,000 euros respectively.

Caritas responds to tragedy in KatowiceWarsaw, 1 February 2006. - In response to the tragedy, that took place yesterday in the city of Katowice in southern Poland, Caritas Poland has allocated 400 000 Polish Zloty to support the victims.

Caritas Europa holds first edition of its Emergency Forum 25 Emergency desk officers from 17 Member Organisations across Europe came together in Brussels to attend Caritas Europa’s first Emergency Forum in 2005 on 2-3 June. The Forum, which was organised by the Humanitarian Aid Commission, was exclusively dedicated to providing high-level input to an ongoing process of reviewing the Confederation’s Emergency Mechanisms for responding to major emergencies.
