Caritas activities at the Global Village of the International Aids Conference

What: The XVIII International AIDS Conference is held in Vienna, Austria, on the 18-23 July 2010. In parallel to the daily plenary sessions, the Global Village is the place where people living with HIV, affected communities, civil society organisations, activists and health agencies interact with scientists, doctors, researchers, governments and civil leaders.

Who: Members of the Caritas Europa HIV/AIDS Task Force and Caritas experts from Ukraine and Russia will participate at the Global Village



  • In the session "Left at the Maternity Hospital - Children and HIV in Eastern Europe" Caritas specialists from Russia and Ukraine will share their experiences in working with children affected by HIV/AIDS - Global Village Session Room 2 @ 14:30 to 16:00


  • The session "Health Care And Treamtment for Children" will include the intervention "Demands of the Caritas HAART for Children campaign" by R. Reverend Robert Vitillo (Member of the Caritas Europa HIV/AIDS Task Force). Youth from Caritas Austria, Slovakia and Slovenia will play and present a collage representing their experiences with advocacy campaigning - Global Village, Youth Pavilion @ 18:30 to 20:00
