Brussels, 11 December 2009 - After a one month long process, Caritas Europa has been elected to be the representative of European-level civil society organisations in the Bureau of the Integration Forum for the next two years.

The Bureau of the Forum is composed by four members: the European Economic and Social Committee, the European Commission, the Council for Ethnic Minorities in Denmark (representing civil society at national level) and Caritas Europa (representing civil society at European level). 

The Bureau meets four times a year, before and after each plenary meeting to ensure the continuity of the Forum's activities and to define the its agenda and organise its work. 

Caritas Europa Migration Officer, Mr. Peter Verhaeghe is pleased with this election as it “confirms the growing role as a European key-actor in the field of migration and social inclusion that Caritas Europa is earning, thanks to the work of the Secretariat, but chiefly, thanks to the work of our colleagues working at national level in our member organizations around Europe.”
